'Young Writers' Poetry Competition.
20 December 2017
This is a national competition in which students were asked to compose a poem around the theme of ‘Truth or Dare’ tackling a challenging issue in society or personal to them.
From over 13,000 entries nationally, we were extremely pleased to have 37 of our students selected for publication in the ‘The Poetry Games: Truth or Dare?’ set to be released in February 2018. The favourite published poet, yet to be announced, will also receive an iPad so we will eagerly await this news.
If you are a parent of one of the students chosen to be published, please do not forget to log-on to the website in your information pack and ‘Give permission’ for your son or daughter’s poem to be published. You are also able to purchase a copy of the book but this is not a condition of publication; students’ poems have been chosen entirely on their own merit!
The English department are extremely proud of our students for the many entries received and the high standard attained; well done!
