Last night Tarleton Academy hosted their annual Spelling Bee event for year 5 and 6 students from seven of our local primary schools. Students rose to some tough challenges in spelling, punctuation and grammar, showing fantastic team spirit throughout.

The final round saw students go 'head to head' on vocabulary from their chosen subject, ending in a tense tiebreaker between Rufford and Bretherton. The word ‘conservation’ proved to be the decider with Rufford edging it with their accurate definition and taking first place.

It was brilliant to see such a fantastic effort from all involved - well done, you did your schools proud!
