Runshaw Horizons Geology Workshop Wednesday, 14th March
14 March 2018
Today five Year 10 students are attending a Geology workshop at Runshaw College. This workshop is part of the Horizons Programme which provides interesting and challenging events and gives students the great opportunity to develop their knowledge and explore subjects beyond the exam syllabus.
Today’s theme is Tyrannosaurus Rex: Hunter or Scavenger? Tyrannosaurs are portrayed as the ultimate hunting machine - the greatest apex predator ever to roam the Earth. However, recent research suggests this infamous killer was nothing more than a scavenger. Students will evaluate fossil evidence, cutting-edge CT images and biomechanical models to resolve this debate.
